Haylo everyone!

Well as you can see from this picture I’ve been “Mickey’d” at Hong Kong’s latest attraction, DisneyLand.

In Cantonese, it is “Dik sih neih” which has no meaning as it is just an alliteration. However, if you modify it slightly and say “Gik sei neih” it means “Irritate You to Death”.

Which is how I felt standing in the long lines. Literally, 1-2 hours waiting in line, without the “Fast Pass” for some of the attractions.

Highlights for me were the 3-D movie, and Space Mountain. The “Cha-Siu Hon-Bou-Baau” was not as tasty as real “Cha-Siu-Baau” (Disney tried to adapt local culture and made a hamburger like version of the famous dim-sum item pork bun).

Enjoy the show!

    Great podcast,
I’ve never heard so much interesting music before. I instantly fell for Yo Hitoto in show 22, and had to order the CD from cdjapan.co.jp. Delivery may take up to twelve (12) weeks, so it gives me something to look forward to for christmas.

    Best regards from Norway,
    Jan

Hello Alexia, ‘Hoa Penh Kon Lao’ means ‘I am Lao’, these guys are from the USA, but like many in America originally from another country; in this case Laos, right here in SE Asia. North of Cambodia and Thailand. They speak Laotian, which to me sounds similar to Khmer and Thai. PS> I hope they improve the Cha-Siu burger :-)

sarky sang the song “Hoa Penh Kon Lao”.
Heard ELao Entertainment Inc. headed by Lao music pioneer singer/producer Ketsana launched a 3 ELao Rock n Diva concert this summer and Sarky was in it. Great show. I am from DC.
